A Dedicated Veteran-Led Organization

When the American Legion was created in 1919 by Congress, the organization's goal was mutual helpfulness for communities. As the largest veterans service organization, the American Legion provides programs for communities to strengthen relationships and provide safe spaces for locals. At American Legion Post 123, located in Sanibel, FL, we strive to keep that mission alive within our community.

Proudly Serving the Public

Unlike other American Legion Posts, our location at Sanibel serves the entire community rather than just the local veterans. We're one of the few locations that serve the public due to being a smaller Post location! Known for our food service and other local events, we're a staple in the Sanibel community.

Our Community Events

American Legion provides many opportunities to encourage community engagement. Every Sunday, we offer full-course meals to anyone on the island, including holidays! Our events look slightly different while we rebuild our Post due to the hurricane, but we're working hard to bring community events back to the island. From scholarships to community service, we do it all! For more information on what we do, click here. For our events schedule, click here.

We'd also like to thank the members and friends of the Sanibel legion for assisting in our efforts to rebuild our Post. Soon enough, we'll reopen our tiki bar to provide food and refreshments for the community while raising funds to continue strengthening Post 123.
